OUR PROGRAMS
Care
Through our holistic, survivor-led, trauma-informed care, we help women heal from their past and rebuild their lives.
Online Support Groups
Treasures offers online support groups to women who have experienced exploitation and trafficking. They are designed to be a safe place where women can experience peer support, skill building, community, and an opportunity for healing and restoration. All of our support groups are led by lived-experience experts (survivors of exploitation and trafficking).
Mentoring
Our mentors go through extensive training to provide individualized, trauma-informed care to help women reach their goals on their journey to freedom and recovery.
Care Packages
Survivors of exploitation and trafficking in the commercial sex industry are eligible to recieve a care package containing encouraging resources, including a free copy of our founder, Harmony Dust’s memoir, Scars and Stilettos.
Weekly Bible Study
This survivor-led, online support group is designed to be a safe place for women who desire to incorporate faith into their healing journey. They are invited to explore spiritual practices and deepen their relationship with God.*
*Though we are a faith-based organization, there are no faith requirements and no strings attached when it comes to all of our programs and services. Our support groups and mentoring are open to women from all walks of life, and we respect everyone’s religious and spiritual views.
GENTLE CASE MANAGEMENT
Through our light touch case management, we equip women with the resources they need in order to holistically address the needs and challenges they face. Through our extensive list of community partnerships, we are able to help women access resources such as residential programs, vocational and educational training, legal assistance, funding through victims of crime, and much more.
OUTREACH
We reach women and girls in strip clubs, porn, escorting, prostitution, and victims of trafficking with the message that they are loved, valued, and purposed and that support is available when they are ready.
Areas of Outreach
Monthly strip club outreaches across Los Angeles County, reaching at least 47 clubs annually..
Bi-monthly outreach to HIV testing centers for people in porn
Online outreach through platforms where the women are interfacing.
Outreach to system-impacted youth through retreats and workshops in partnership with DCFS, Department of Probations, and Local organizations serving youth.
COLLABORATIVE RESEARCH PROJECT
In collaboration with three other Los Angeles-based non-profits providing services to women who have experienced exploitation and trafficking, Treasures is conducting a longitudinal study tracking survivor success in 14 different categories. We are utilizing data collected using The Outcomes For Human Trafficking Survivors (OHTS) Instrument. The OHTS is an outcome evaluation instrument designed to help comprehensive service programs monitor progress toward outcomes among victims and survivors of human trafficking.
Why?
Currently, there are no national longitudinal studies that track survivor success beyond exploitation. Survivors of trafficking do not have a linear journey to success therefore having data over a three-year period would allow for a more comprehensive look at the necessary services survivors need for long-term success.
How?
All partner organizations participating in the study will have been trained to implement the necessary assessments. The data is being collected by a PhD Occupational Therapy student and Occupational Therapist from one of the partner organizations. The data will be analyzed over a period of 3 years to create a map of success.
TRAINING AND RESOURCES
Our training is designed to equip and empower allies, service providers and churches to effectively reach and support women in their cities who have been impacted by sexual exploitation and trafficking. To date, we have trained outreaches in over 120 cities on 6 continents.
LIVE FREE RECOVERY CURRICULUM
The Live Free Recovery Curriculum is a series designed to equip and empower women who have experienced sexual exploitation and trafficking to live healthy and flourishing lives. Based on the Stages of Change model and key resilience building blocks, the Live Free curriculum will provide a series of volumes customized to the needs of people in the varying stages of their recovery journey.
